    Friday's Rampage lineupAEW

Welcome to Bleacher Report's coverage and recap of AEW Rampage on February 24.

Lance Archer returns to action this week after being off AEW television for several months, so his victim probably regretted showing up to work this week.

The Young Bucks battled Aussie Open in a tag team bout, Action Andretti took on Sammy Guevara, and Willow Nightingale faced Toni Storm.

We also heard from Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes regarding their feud with Swerve Strickland.

Let's look at everything that happened on Friday's show.

The Young Bucks vs. Aussie Open

1 of 4

Aussie Open and The Young Bucks were already in the ring to get the show started right away with this tag team match.

The NJPW regulars took control right out of the gate by isolating Matt from Nick, but that only lasted for a minute before Nick was able to tag in and help his brother clear the ring.

Mark Davis overpowered the Bucks whenever he was in the ring while Kyle Fletcher matched their speed.

These two teams have some history between them, so this felt a bit more personal than the average tag team match. The announcers did a good job making sure fans who are not familiar with Aussie Open know why these duos don't like each other.

This was an energetic performance from all four men. They did an excellent job keeping up the quick pace without feeling like they were underselling each other's offense too much. Aussie Open looked great, but they were unsuccessful in this one. The Bucks scored the win with the BTE Trigger.

The House of Black appeared at ringside after a quick blackout, but they disappeared just as quickly.

    Winners: The Young Bucks

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • It's cool to see Kenny Omega at ringside to support his partners. We don't get him in a lot of segments in which he is not the focal point, so this is a nice change of pace.
    • Body slamming two people at the same time is incredibly impressive. Davis is amazing.
    • Most of the double-team spots in this match looked great. That is the kind of chemistry you get when you have two veteran teams in the ring together.
    • Davis wiping out Matt to put a stop to his hot tag before it even got going was hilarious.
    • Setting up Davis so he ended up piledriving his own partner was a creative spot.

Willow Nightingale vs. Toni Storm

    Willow Nightingale and Toni StormAEW

The next match featured Willow taking on Storm in a singles match. Saraya was there with her ally, but Nightingale was all by her lonesome.

The former AEW women's champion went right after her opponent as soon as the referee called for the bell. She had the upper hand for a moment, but she was no match for Willow's power.

Unfortunately, Storm was more willing to use dirty tactics, so she ended up turning the tables when the fight spilled out of the ring. This match was all about continuing to establish Storm and Saraya as heels, which is easy to do with an opponent as loveable as Willow.

They were given a decent amount of time to work and made the most of the time they had in the ring. After a distraction from Saraya, Storm was able to hit her finisher to get the win. Before they could spray Willow with paint, Ruby Soho and Jamie Hayter made the same to run them off.

    Winner: Toni Storm

    Grade: B-

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • We saw a backstage segment with The Gunns, Lee Moriarty and Big Bill attacking Best Friends.
    • It's so great how the crowd always pops for Nightingale's music.
    • Storm's hip attack looked painful for Willow.
    • Hayter had to slow down so she didn't catch Saraya before they made it around the ring and back up the ramp.

Lance Archer vs. Bryce Saturn

    Lance ArcherAEW

For some reason, Bryce Saturn decided to try to attack Archer as he was on his way to the ring. The Murderhawk Monster easily sent him head over heels with a back body drop.

He proceeded to beat the young man down before finishing him off with a huge spinning lariat. This was a basic squash match. There isn't much more to say about it other than it's great to see Archer back on TV.

    Winner: Lance Archer

    Grade: Incomplete

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • It was nice to see Jake Roberts back alongside Archer.
    • Archer did a good job denying the crowd what it wanted so he could play the heel.

Action Andretti vs. Sammy Guevara

    Action Andretti and Sammy GuevaraAEW

Andretti and Guevara had the usual backstage interview with Mark Henry before they went to the ring for their main event match.

They started off with a display of agility with a series of quick counters. The newcomer to AEW took the early lead, but Guevara turned things around when he sent him into the timekeeper's table.

This was about Andretti trying to prove that his win over Chris Jericho wasn't a fluke, but it also felt like a game of one-upmanship. Both men wanted to hit the most impressive moves, so they kept upping the ante.

The placement of the final commercial break was a little too close to the end of the show, but it didn't do anything to ruin the final sequence. This was easily the best performance Andretti has had in AEW so far, but Guevara deserves a lot of credit for bringing the best out of him.

After a few close calls, Guevara scored the win with the GTH after some outside interference from Daniel Garcia.

    Winner: Sammy Guevara

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Garcia is so much better on the mic than he was when he first got to AEW. Maybe working with Jericho has actually helped him.
    • It felt like this episode had a lot more interviews and backstage segments than usual.
    • It didn't look like Guevara was supposed to go all the way to the floor when he was clotheslined over the top rope. He recovered well, but it seemed like he was supposed to land on his feet.
    • The way Andretti lifted Guevara off the mat for a falcon arrow was an impressive feat of strength.
    • The running dropkick Andretti used to send Guevara into the corner looked awesome.
