What type of word is until?
Until is a preposition and a conjunction. Until is often shortened to till or 'til. Till and 'til are more informal and we don't usually use them in formal writing.
Subordinating conjunctions
This type of conjunction includes words like because, if, although, since, until, and while.
Until as a preposition
We use from with until or till to talk about when something begins and when it ends: I worked out at the gym from 6 pm till 7.30 pm. The road outside our house will be closed from 6 am until 6 pm tomorrow.
Connectives fall into three categories: Conjunctions - link words and phrases together. For example: when, before, while, so, because, since, where, later, unless, until, yet, once, that, if.

There are many subordinating conjunctions but the most common are: after, although, as, as if, because, before, how, if, since, than, though, unless, until, when, where and while.
Until (conjunction)

Connectives are words or phrases that link sentences (or clauses) together. Connectives can be conjunctions, prepositions or adverbs.

Is until inclusive or exclusive?
Till/until some day can be both inclusive and exclusive. Until is defined as "up to the point in time or the event mentioned", but a day is not a point in time, rather it's an interval of 24 hours. In most cases it can be implied from the context: We are open Monday till Friday.
A coordinating conjunction is a conjunction that connects words, phrases, and clauses that are coordinate, or equal to each other. There are seven coordinating conjunctions: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
Until and till can be prepositions or conjunctions. There is no difference in meaning between until and till. Till is more common in conversation, and is not used in formal writing.
It is an adverb clause. It is also a dependent clause. Let me give you an example, I will wait here until you come. “until you come” is an adverb clause because it is describing the verb 'wait' which makes it an adverb and since it is a clause, we call it an adverb clause.
