Kai T Fandango is such a fun movie! It's silly and irreverent and crazy, which is just what kids freshly out of college should be in their lighter moments. It's also poignant and touching at times. The humor is sometimes a bit off the wall, but most of it is believable, if zany, due to the excellent acting of the cast. It's about a road trip five friends take to dig up Dom. Some of the funniest stuff in any movie I can think of off hand. Costner and Nelson deliver great performances. The soundtrack is excellent, especially the Pat Metheny track, expertly woven into the scene near the end of the movie, that makes the entire scene special. One of my very favorite comedies movies! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Lancaster This really is a very funny and yet incredibly poignant film. Set to a gorgeous soundtrack featuring lovely music from Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays among various pop tunes of the seventies, the movie delivers multiple excellent scenes that continuously deliver satisfaction from the viewer. You are left wanting more and with the heartstrings pulled ever-so subtly. Highly recommend. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/05/24 Full Review Audience Member I truly relish my first viewing of Fandango. And each viewing after. I want to go back in time to when I first saw the train scene and the skydiving scene. I always laugh, but the first time I saw it, I laughed so hard I had to lay on the floor. And I cried. Those scenes serve to remind me of times, when, having not put a lot of thought into something because of youth, circ*mstances rapidly devolved. "Oh lord! I started this!!" Things are officially out of control, and now we just ride it out. The pilot is a lot of fun, with his wreck in the sky. Ever been in a Korean taxicab? It's a lot like that. You know you are going to die, you are just waiting for the surprise ending. I like the plot. Who hasn't gone on a mythical roadtrip in their youth? When you are young, you crave to do something really stupid. I like how Kevin Costner's character has to come to terms with a decision he has made - and finds out - he can't go back. No matter what roadblocks he throws up. Lots of drinking till they come up with the only logical conclusion. I found myself feeling sorry for Kevin's character. He knows he has lost something very valuable. The wedding scene is quite pretty. I like the soundtrack. What is bad about this movie? I can't really think of anything. Nothing stands out. It's funny beginning to end. It's also poignant from beginning to end. And the ending serves to remind all of us of the deep friendships we had, and were lost in time. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review david p I can't adequately put into words what this film is and what it means to me. Not one second of screen time is wasted. If I have to highlight particular scenes they would be the parachuting scene and the wedding. The parachuting scene reminds me of my early twenties; doing things on an impulse as at that age we're old enough to know better but still young enough to not care. The wedding scene reminds me of my own wedding day. It mirrored it in spontaneous spirit as my family crashed the other wedding reception at the hotel where mine was. The best stories are the ones you can see your own life in. And the ones you kind of live when you visit one of the filming locations. Do go to Big Bend Ranch State Park in West Texas. You'll find the DOM rock there. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member it's perfect. there aren't any more words.
