Residents and businesses in part of Brockton were warned of a 9-hour "emergency power outage" planned by National Grid. The Brockton Fire Department said the outage began Tuesday at 10 p.m. and is expected to last through 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Officials said the outage, affecting the downtown area, will allow for underground cable repairs.
