Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of AEW Rampage on February 16.

This week's episode aired three hours earlier than usual, but that was the only significant change to the show. We still got the same four-match lineup we get most weeks.

Here's a look at the card for Friday's show:

    • Dustin Rhodes and the Von Erichs in action
    • Queen Aminata vs. Anna Jay
    • The Bang Bang Scissor Gang vs. Dark Order, Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett and Satnam Singh
    • Jeff Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara

Let's take a look at what happened on this week's episode of AEW Rampage.

Jeff Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara

Rampage opened with Hardy and Guevara in the ring and ready to get this No Disqualification match underway.

Hardy slapped Guevara in the face and backed him to the corner aggressively. The announcers noted that this was another sign of his upcoming heel turn.

Unfortunately, due to this show being pre-taped, we knew coming into this that Hardy suffered an injury when Guevara landed on him the wrong way when he attempted a shooting star press.

Even with that hanging over this bout, both men made it very easy to get into. They used the stairs, a ladder, some chairs, a table, and even a fan's neckbrace from the front row.

Matt was at ringside to support his brother but kept himself out of the action despite everything being legal.

Guevara put Jeff through a table with his own Swanton Bomb as the crowd chanted "This is awesome." Guevara picked up the win with a GTH. Powerhouse Hobbs attacked The Spanish God and left him lying in the ring.

Result: Sammy Guevara defeated Jeff Hardy

    Grade: B+

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Jeff being more of a heel lately has been fun. He has spent so much of his career as a babyface in every promotion.
    • Guevara's double stomp on the apron was about as perfect as possible.
    • The fans booing Guevara when he prevented Jeff from using a ladder was funny.
    • Showing Jeff's injury from multiple angles felt unnecessary.

Dustin Rhodes and the Von Erichs Squash Match, Queen Aminata vs. Anna Jay

2 of 3

After a few backstage promos and interviews Rhodes and the Von Erich brothers took on three local talents in a trios bout This was purely to give the good guys a quick win. Dustin got the pin while the Von Erichs put the other two men in the Iron Claw.

Result: Dustin Rhodes and the Von Erichs won

    Grade: Incomplete

The next match saw Queen Aminata take on Anna Jay after we saw a brief clip of Aminata being interviewed about how she got into wrestling.

The announcers noted how Aminata has more minutes on TV than any other member of the women's division in 2024.

You could tell Aminata was working differently in this match because she was finally going to get a win on AEW TV, so there was a little bit of pep in her step.

The Queen began to build up a head of steam after a commercial break. She started using more impactful moves and the crowd was reacting louder with each one.

This wasn't perfect, but it was a great showcase for Aminata and a solid performance for Jay. Aminata won with a huge headbutt to end an enjoyable encounter. Jay shook her hand and gave her a hug.

Result: Queen Aminata defeated Anna Jay

    Grade: B

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • Excalibur noted how Dusty Rhodes teamed up with the Von Erichs over 40 years ago.
    • The interview with Renee Paquette and Queen Aminata was good stuff.
    • Daddy Magic was great on commentary. He knows when to tone it down so he doesn't distract from the action in the ring.

12-man Tag Match

    Rampage.AEW

The main event of this week's show saw Jay White, Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, Austin, Colten and Billy Gunn take on Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Evil Uno, John Silver and Alex Reynolds in a 12-man tag match.

White and Lethal started for their teams with a nice exchange of takedowns and counters. For a match with this many people involved, they made it surprisingly easy to follow because they limited how often more than one person was in the ring for either team.

Once we got to the inevitable sequence that involved everyone taking turns hitting big moves, it was easier to lose track of who was legal.

The Bang Bang Scissor Gang scored the win to wrap up a decent episode of Rampage. This show had a surprising amount of backstage stuff for a one-hour show, but it sort of helped the flow a bit.

Result: The Bang Bang Scissor Gang won

    Grade: B-

    Notable Moments and Observations

    • We got a couple of backstage segments with Ruby Soho during the show. Angelo Parker gave her a Valentine's Day gift and confessed his feelings for her.
    • Billy is so deceptively tall.
